Scott Kindsvater – Class of 1985
Brigadier General Scott Kindsvater is a 1985 graduate of Dodge City High School. Kindsvater is the Assistant Deputy Commander, United States Air Force Central Command, and Assistant Vice Commander, 9th Air Expeditionary Task Force, Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina.
He assists with the development of contingency plans and the execution of air operations for the 20-nation U.S. Central Command area of responsibility covering central and southwest Asia.
Kindsvater trained as a F-15E fighter pilot, and is a command pilot with more than 3,600 hours of flight time, including more than 600 combat hours over Iraq and Afghanistan.
Frank Scoggins – Class of 1965
Retired Major General Frank Scoggins, a 1965 graduate, entered pilot training in the U.S. Air Force after college. He was selected to fly the F-4 Phantom fighter during the Vietnam War. He was then given the opportunity to help reshape fighter tactics used by the USAF during the Vietnam War. Scoggins spent four years instructing at the USAF Fighter Weapons School.
Over his 37-year career, he flew more than 4,500 hours in primarily fighter aircraft.
Scoggins is now active on community non-profit boards, and takes part in recreational aerobatic flying.
Fred Stoss III – Class of 1983
A 1983 graduate of Dodge City High School, Brigadier General Fred Stoss III was inducted into the Ring of Honor for 2015.
Stoss entered the Air Force Reserve Officers’ Training Corps after college graduation. He began active duty in 1988. He is the Director of Strategic Plans, Programs, Requirements and Assessments at headquarters Air Force Global Strike Command, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. He is responsible for strategic planning, establishing requirements and programming advocacy for the nation’s Minuteman III intercontinental ballistic missiles, B-@ and B-52 Bombers, UH-1N “Huey” helicopters, and associated munitions systems, with a budget exceeding 6.5 billion dollars.
