2014 Ring of Honor Inductees

Loren Doll – Class of 1947

• Graduated from DCSHS in 1947.

• Played professional baseball with the Brooklyn Dodgers for three years and Pittsburgh Pirates for one year.

• Founded Irsik & Doll in 1961.

• Still holds the Kansas high school record for “Most hits in one game” with six.

• Holds the DCHS baseball record for batting average with .524 – A record he’s held for 67 years.

Nola Ochs – Class of 1929

• Graduated from DCSHS in 1929.

• Enrolled as a full-time student at Fort Hays State University in 2006 at the age of 94.

• Earned her bachelor’s degree in 2007.

• Appeared on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno.

• Was a guest speaker for Princess cruise lines learned her masters degree in 2010 at the age of 98.

• Is listed as the “world’s oldest college graduate” in “the Guinness Book of World Records.”
